Hamilton's House Of Spirit
Making Room for Spirit
Three weeks ago, I began posting a short note every Thursday after casting the Dilogún, seeking the wisdom of Spirit. Each week, I’ve shared the Odu that has fallen and the message it carried — offering its wisdom in case it might also resonate with someone else.
As I studied the Odu and distilled its wisdom into the short notes I’ve been posting every Thursday, I realized there was a missed opportunity. Those brief reflections highlighted the central teaching of each Odu, but they often missed the nuance. The Dilogún and its Odu form a complex system, rich with layers of meaning, and I came to understand that I could not do it justice within such small spaces.
So I faced a dilemma. When I launched 2260 Hamilton: Lore & Shadows, I planned for it to be a space where I could share my journey as a writer and tell the stories that excite and inspire me.
But lately, I’ve noticed that the whispers of Spirit have begun to intrude upon that space. I have always lived with one foot in the material world and the other in the spiritual — it is what informs my writing and gives it life.
Yet Spirit needs its own room to speak, a place where its messages can come through with clarity. And so, Hamilton’s House of Spirit was conceived — to give voice to the whispers of Spirit.
The Yoruba word for House is Ìlé — a word that holds many meanings. It can mean a physical home, a spiritual house, or a community of believers. It can also speak of lineage, legacy, and belonging.
Hamilton’s House of Spirit is my Ìlé — a place where I hope to build a community with whom I can share spiritual wisdom, reflection, and growth.
So if you wish to join me on this journey, I will simply say: Welcome to my Ìlé

I would be honoured to join, thank you for the invitation.❤️
